Review smartphone ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser: laser precision
While professional photographers find out which is better – Nikon or Canon – the world turned upside down. The most popular device for shooting was a smartphone. Many have long abandoned the camera because the camera in the phone successfully solves all standard tasks. However, the most advanced technology in the first place are in the top devices that many simply can not afford, and those who want an inexpensive device with one pronounced feature, the choice is very modest. And from this point of view ASUS is doing everything right. For fans of huge screens Zenfone there are 3 Ultra. For those who believe that nothing is more important than capacious battery, Zenfone there are 3 Max. Well, ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser is an affordable phone for those who are especially important quality camera.
Of course, the most advanced module in the budget smartphone of the question, but in General the camera settings Zenfone 3 Laser look decent. Later we will talk more about how to operate a laser focus and why it was needed. And now it’s time to look at the main parameters of the model.

Design, ergonomics, software
To the evaluation design can be approached from two sides: either to compliment the stylistic unity of the entire series Zenfone 3, or to criticize ASUS for not wanting to add each smartphone of individuality. However, now all smartphones anyway similar set ten years ago, the standards do not change, only the display size increases and the thickness decreases.
The smartphone is offered only in two colors: silver and gold. The second option seems more interesting, although there is, of course, an Amateur. Here the color is not so rich, such as the iPhone, but still would like more choice: where is black, dark gray, Yes, even pink?
The front panel is completely covered with tempered glass with fashionable effect of 2.5 D. the Edges are slightly rounded on the perimeter, which contributes to a smoother transition to the edges. Eye you can hardly notice it, but the hold the smartphone will be a little easier. Above the display are the front camera lens, voice speaker and proximity sensor and below the screen – touch button control. ASUS Zenfone 3 Max, if you remember, these buttons were only used on-screen keys, which reduced the effective area of the display.
On the bottom – only the microphone under a nice grille and the microUSB. However, it is worth noting that the lower and upper portion of the housing on the back panel is not metal as it’s main part, and plastic. I don’t think a potential buyer of the smartphone will be happy to know about this feature, however ASUS has an excuse – these inserts contribute to the better performance of wireless modules. Indeed, with this smartphone a full order. Besides the plastic itself does not issue – it is painted in the same color and has the same texture that the metal base body.
On the left side is traditionally the tray for SIM-cards, one on the right is a power button and dual volume control button. It is also used for the shutter in capture mode. It’s nice that these items are located in the upper third of the side edge – so they are easy to press with your thumb. Recent experiments Sony, in which the volume key is at the bottom, still make you think about where to place the volume control. In my opinion, a variant of the ASUS.
On the rear panel are the flash, protruding camera lens (which, apparently, easily scratched), the window of the laser and a rectangular, elongated area of the fingerprint. In my opinion, the location of the fingerprint scanner a little less convenient than the Home button or power button, but it’s the little things. Form seemed a little uncomfortable with square scanner ASUS Zenfone 3 Max to handle was more comfortable.
The size of the device too big (149 × 76 × 7.9 mm), but to hold it with one hand, it does not cause discomfort. It is unlikely you will be able to reach the upper areas of the screen with your thumb, but typing on the fly is quite possible. It is worth noting that even among the 5.5-inch smartphone ASUS Zenfone 3 Laser remains one of the most compact, no comparison with the iPhone 7 Plus.
Powered smartphone Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is “dressed” in a proprietary shell ZenUI 3.0. It is good optimized and adapted to different screen resolutions. At the same time, the Zen UI is not so very different from the traditional Android so you don’t have to go through the long process of getting used to when switching from any other Android smartphone.
The list of claims to the ASUS all the same. Company reason replaced the standard system fonts with my own and replaced the usual system icons. The tinctures, however, it is possible to set any set of labels.
In comments to the review Zenfone 3 Max I was told that I should not resent the excessive pre-installed software, in particular ZenTalk. Supposedly, it contains a lot of useful information about the firmware and other nuances that could not be found on the forums of the Runet. Have to agree, however, necessary to stress once again that all the information is available only in English, no Russian activity in ZenTalk not. Again, it is unclear what preloaded games, multiple browsers (though all of them are available absolutely free), and also, for example, the Tripadvisor app.
