The Intel Core M was announced almost a year ago at Computex in June last year. They are based on the architecture Broadwell new process technology 14 nm. Their main purpose is to tablets and ultraportable laptops.

Due to the advanced design rules, the new processors turned out to be about 50% less than their counterparts nizkovorsnye of the family Haswell. The heating package Core M is 4.5 W (expandable to 6 watts depending on the model), so when designing systems in most cases you can do without active cooling – as did, for example, the developers of the new MacBook.

The nominal clock frequency of processors Core M range from 800 to 1200 MHz, but in Turbo mode they can grow to 2 900 MHz (only for models with Intel Core M-5Y71). Appearance this combination looks very appetizing – no wonder Apple has relied on these CPU, setting them in the new “MacBook”. Today, however, we will not consider Mac and ultrabook with Windows – Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro.


New “Yoga” has remained faithful to the traditions of the series: laptop cover made (as well as the bottom) of aluminum, still can open almost 360 degrees, turning the laptop into a Windows tablet.

In the updated “Yoga”, a new loop, visually similar to a metal watch bracelets. According to the manufacturer, these loops collected from 885 parts helped reduce the weight of the laptop on 200 grams, and the thickness is 3 mm.

This design of the hinge looks great, but she, unfortunately, there were a couple downsides. First, the wide parts of the loops, between which there are gaps, the whole thing can rattle. Second, the new loop does not completely cover the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard, it is possible to notice, if you put the laptop in tablet mode. The slot, in which is seen a plume is very thin so damage can be very sharp and thin object. You have to try very hard, but still the probability is not zero. All the rest of Yoga remains the same as was from the beginning, one of the best laptops-transformers.

The maximum thickness of the laptop is 15 mm, of which the screen is about 5 mm. Weighs Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro a bit – 1.19 kg, which is very good for the 13-inch laptop.

Workspace Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is made of soft plastic with an ornament in the form of tiny dots-pits. To touch such a workspace is very nice but the cleaning can cause problems.
