Overview of the mirrorless camera Fujifilm X-part no E2S: new camera in the old housing
Fujifilm, quickly giving to the surface a whole family of their retro-besserglik, in no hurry to upgrade their design, giving new versions of cameras, which in appearance the most significant change is the die with the new model name. However, something like illness and Olympus, especially the family of the OM-D. From Fujifilm this approach is most clearly manifested in a series of X-E. the Housing of the X-E1, introduced in 2012, and the X-E2, released in 2013, exactly the same, the differences are only in the reshuffle three keys. The new X-part no E2S presented in early 2016, and is not different from X-E2 to turn in any way.
That’s only in technical terms, the X-E2 gets the X-E1 more than thoroughly: new processor, new display with higher resolution, support for 14-bit RAW, the increased burst speed, support video mode 1080/60p, WiFi module. X-part no E2S, despite the past 2.5 years, some radical changes can not boast: it is possible to note only increased number of focus points from 49 to 77, added electronic shutter, additional tier to the expanded range of sensitivity (up to ISO 51 200) and finished the software part. But probably the last really strong argument in favor of the version of S.

Appearance and usability
As already mentioned, the test chamber is externally repeats predecessor: the same aluminum bar and rubber grips, the surface of which is remotely similar to the skin of rough manufacture, the same dimensions and controls. In General, the X-E2 and X-part no E2S – this is identical twins. Weight, of course, also has not changed, and the balance of power over the years has not changed – compared to competitors X-the lightest part no E2S – 350 grams. For comparison, Olympus OM-D E-M5 II weighs 485 grams, Panasonic DMC-GX8 and even more – 487 grams, is relatively easy, Sony Alpha a6300 – 407 grams. By the way, from competitors camera Fuji the thin – only 37 mm, whereas the competitor from Olympus thicker than 8 mm, Sony a6300 – 12 mm, and the Panasonic DMC-GX8 and is by 26 mm, and it is essential.
The build quality is impeccable, and the abdomen bears the inscription “Made in Japan”. A small thing, but damn nice. Actually, this is a sweet heart inscription emblazoned in the lower right corner of the back panel. It’s a craze (if you follow the retro style, the manufacturer sought to achieve a measure of authenticity), and an additional reminder is susceptible to this inscription users, to whom the author of these lines.
Is the front mount, lamp the AF-assist illuminator, and the lever of the mode selection focus mode (manual, tracking and time-lapse).
From the back side to the left of the screen fit playback keys, select a drive mode, metering, and programmable button, by default, responsible for the transition to the automatic mode and deleting pictures. Above the display, there is a viewfinder with a diopter Adjuster, and a proximity sensor, a key mechanical lock lift flash and button in the quick menu. The right side mounted control dial, responsive to the touch, an indicator, a separate button, lock auto focus and auto exposure, grouped in the ring soft key navigation and key shifts the display mode of the display.
Top panel: the center is equipped with a “hot Shoe” with a pair of microphones at the base, a lifting flash, drive select set the shutter speed in increments of 1 EV, the exposure compensation dial in the range -3…+3 EV in increments of 1/3 EV, programmable key, and a shutter button with the lever power. In the case of the shutter-release button is impossible not to mention the possibility of connecting conventional mechanical shutter release cable – feel a pang of nostalgia.
In the lower panel we see the connector mounting on a tripod and a cover for memory card and battery. Unfortunately, the location of the camera on a tripod access to the compartment will be blocked.
On the left side there is a plastic door that hides the connectors to connect external microphone and USB and HDMI. The right side is empty.
