The deficit of graphics accelerators is observed not only in Russia. To order a graphics card of GeForce GTX 1060 or above is problematic even in the United States and Europe. Some popular online stores are taking orders, but responsibly reported that the exact date of receipt of the product is unknown. I don’t know how long it will last this insanity, so can offer only one thing: to wait.

In the last issue I sufficiently described the features and capabilities of all five assemblies, as well as options for their improvement or, conversely, “deterioration” (to save). Starting to build the Intel is based on Junior “stump” — Pentium G4560, which operates at a base frequency of 3.5 GHz. The LGA1151 platform, as I said, looks more promising. Overall, the results from our laboratory demonstrate that in games with the use of a discrete graphics card there is either a parity or a small advantage to Intel platforms. At the same time, there are already projects, the lack of two cores and four threads. For example, the presence in the system Pentium G4560 can lead to visually noticeable latency in games such as GTA V, Watch Dogs 2 and Total War: WARHAMMER. And yet this chip features Hyper-Threading technology, it looks much preferable to dual-core models without a virtual multithreading, as it is full of programs that do not run on these systems. Let’s just say the chips Pentium generation Kaby Lake is the “entry ticket” to the world of games.

In both builds installed 8 GB RAM in a single module, although the memory controllers from the Central processor supports SDRAM in dual channel mode. It is made for the possibility of subsequent modification of the system, as due to the limited budget we can’t buy a motherboard with four DIMM slots full. The lab experiment showed that already many games require more than 8 GB of RAM, and its shortage may cause short-term FPS drops. In such situations, it is necessary to reduce the graphics quality settings up to “High” or “Medium”. So buying in the near future (or immediately) another 8 GB of RAM looks like, in my opinion, quite rational decision.

Will look great in the starting Assembly, and SSD 120-128 GB. The options of inexpensive models is given in the optimal configuration.

Upgrade the AMD build is not so relevant, because we use the eight-core model FX-8320E — senior FX series chips differ only by higher clock frequency, but all the processors for the platform AM3+ have an unlocked multiplier. If desired, the FX-8320E you can overclock to 4.5-4.7 GHz. For this you will need better cooling and higher quality (read — expensive) motherboard, the best chipset AMD 970. If overclocking the CPU is not your method, you should look to the model FX-8350 (9 000 rubles), which is already out of the box running at 4 GHz. Alternative to Pentium G4560 are more expensive processors the Core i3 series, which also have two cores and support Hyper-Threading technology. The advantages of these chips lies in the higher clock frequency, the support set Veternik AVX and AVX2, the opportunity to work with Intel Optane Memory and support of a set of instructions to operate with the model of transactional memory TSX-NI. The last two advantages, in my view, has not been significant for the starter Assembly, and AVX-command is also not used everywhere. Therefore, if there is such possibility, it is better with a Pentium “jump” on the Core i5-7400 (11 500 rubles). In past editions of the “Computer of the month” I offered to start the build of the GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB 570 and Radeon RX 4GB is a good solution for a budget gaming system unit. However, the graphics adapter it is possible to save for example, buy GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, which, although inferior in the games listed above accelerators is approximately 15-20 %. Another more affordable option is the model of Radeon RX 460 4 GB. In the “Computer of the month” options with 2GB of video memory is not considered at all. Indeed, the basic build looks like a full upgrade of the initial configuration. To the shortage of graphics cards budget (50-60 thousand) was enough to buy a full Quad core, 16 GB RAM and even SSD. The lab didn’t test the model Ryzen 5 1400, but the overall balance between the AMD and Intel following: at a similar price chips “red” look better in such tasks as rendering graphics, image processing and video, and cryptography, but in games, usually there is either equality or a small advantage of Core solutions. This conclusion is natural for all reviewed in this article builds.

In both configurations, apply an inexpensive motherboard. To build Intel again have to deal with the budget solutions based on logic H110 Express, on printed circuit boards which are soldered only two slots SO-DIMM. The AMD platform accelerates, as all processors Ryzen equipped with free multiplier, and configuration fee will be charged on the basis of chipset B350. More simple and cheap solutions based on sets of logic functions A320 overclocking CPU do not support. Statistics says that all new models of AMD have similar overclocking potential — 3,9-4 on average GHz or 4.1 GHz if you were really lucky with the stone. Another effective way to speed up the configuration of the AMD will be the use of high frequency RAM.
